We Want To Know Wednesday

Photobucket

It's Wednesday already?  Wow.  What a week!  I played hard in the pool this weekend {read: I tanned my white azz on a floating mattress in the water for 3 days straight} and then I got the sickies.  I hate the sickies...especially when its name is STREP THROAT.  And Emma Kate has a double ear infection.  So here I am, on what feels like my deathbed, to answer these questions brought to you by Mamarazzi.

{1} You have been asked to give a 10 minute speech to teenage girls. What is it about?
{2} Do you have a pet? Tell us about them. No pets? Why?
{3} What is the biggest inconvenience about the place you’re currently living?
{4} What do you think is the single best decision you have made in your life so far?
{5} What are the THREE "nevers" of your life? (things you would never do or have never done)

Q2 is brought to us by McKenzie
Q3 is brought to us by DateGirl

1). Speech--I would tell them that:
    a) Sex is overrated.
    b) All boys have STD's and aren't afraid to share.
    c) You will NOT become famous for being a teenage mom no matter what MTV says.
    d) Don't be mean to your momma.
    e) Wear longer shorts.

2). Pet--Our first child was a precious Beagle named Lexi. She was our "practice baby".  Lexi is 7 years young and she loves loves loves baby Emma. She has been the most perfect dog I've ever had.

For several years, we had a Packers collar on her {because we're Cheeseheads} but after EVERYONE in the 'hood referred to her as a "him", I finally traded it in for a pretty pink one. Problem solved.

3). Inconveniences--I guess we could start with the fact that my town, which I lovingly refer to as HELL, has the biggest group of swingers that I've ever seen.  Or the fact that this town could be the Meth capital of Oklahoma.  Or how about that I paid a ridiculous amount of money for my house because the price of land in this shitastic town is outrageous. Or the fact that it doesn't have a Taco Bueno and only offers 2 chain restaurants.  We have 20,000 people!  WE NEED RESTAURANTS!
*End of rant*

4). Single best decision--Hmmm...I have several.  I make amazing decisions on a regular basis, DUH. Even as a teenager, RIGHT MOM?  But the BEST was embracing my fear and letting my fertility doctor cut me open and drain cysts from my ovaries thus allowing me to get pregnant with my little miracle baby, Emma Kate.

5). Nevers:
    a) I will NEVER snort anything up my nose.  It's an exit only.
    b) I will NEVER be a swinger even if I live in Swingerville.
    c) I will NEVER quit loving slightly underbaked brownies.

So now it's your turn!  It took me all of 15 minutes to type this up so get busy!  And don't forget to visit my partners in crime Janette, Mamarazzi, and Shawn.

P.S.  On a more serious note, two of our best friends just found out that one of their 4 year old twin boys has a tumor on his hip.  The doctor believes it's malignant.  They will be taking a biopsy today.  If you believe in the power of prayer like I do, please please please pray that this a non-cancerous tumor.  We already have one best friend who has gone through chemo with her 1 year old. I just can't imagine watching another set of friends go through the same heartbreak. Thank you in advance.

I think anyone who experienced a miracle believes in prayers and would share it to those who are in need of it.

Perfect speech! I will book you to speak to my daughters freshman class this year...stat! LOL!

Cute beagle! When we were kids, my parents had two...Maggie and Bozo!

I think you live in MY town! Except for the swinger part, I wouldn't know, but it could be happenin!

So happy for you that you have your cutie Emma Kate!

I will DEFINITELY pray for your friends! Illness is the devil which no child should have to face!

Have a great Wednesday!

You'd be giving those girls some good advice. I'm not sure that I'd talk to girls about sex and all that. The only thing I'd add is to stay away from the woods at church camp and to wear more clothes and less makeup.

Lexie sounds like a good dog. We had a practice baby also, Molly, a shih tzu. We loved that danged dog. She's gone now. Replaced by three shit eating carpet crappers whom we love anyway.

Dang girl, you have Sonic, what do you want.? Did you guys lose your Starbuck's. I used to go through Hell quite a bit on bidness in another life. I never ate there because there was nowhere to eat, that was worth a darn. I'm feeling your pain.

Marrying Sweetie was the best decision I ever made.

I'll keep your friend's family in my prayers. What a nightmare.

Sending prayers your way!!

Yeah for Cheeseheads- my hubby was born in Wisconsin and his family are all cheeseheads- we rock the cheesehead christmas ornaments on the tree every year! Lil man also rocked his Green Bay onesie this year after the win!!

LOL. Underbaked brownies ARE the best!

Nadine Hightower said...

we must live in the same town! No Taco Wayno here either!!
And teenage girls and those short shorts are so like on my pet peeve list. constantly pulling them from the vjj or pickin' at their seat! Geez!!

Erinsgobragh said...

Packers is to freaking cute! I love the you'll never snort anything up your nose bit! TOOO FUNNY!

Brittney said...

very good advice to give the teens!!! now I am jealous of you for getting a tan mine has started to fade.

Your town sounds like the one i grew up in there is 2 gas stations and no traffic lights for miles haha!

that is so sad about your friends baby :( i will pray!

Amber said...

I hate hearing about little babies with tumors - it seems so unfair. I'm sending my positive thoughts to your friend's family. :)

Lexi looks so sweet! Beagles are such nice pups.

I like your last word of advice for teenage girls...so true. I might add to it to not start wearing shorts until it's officially above 40 on a daily basis. Here once the sun comes out in the spring girls are in their booty shorts and tank tops, it's kind of ridiculous!

Jill said...

Your town sounds...interesting. haha! But come check out my small town for awhile, we have NO chain restaurants, and have to drive an hour to find one!!

Sorry to hear you have the strep - hope you feel better soon!

And I'll be praying.

singedwingangel said...

Good grief where do ya'll live that swingers are so abundant???
I hear ya on the meth. Drugs period are taking over our small town.
We had a beagle named Groucho and he was the best thing ever I miss him so much a lot..

Laura Carson said...

Your speech to teenage girls - awesome! Thank you for giving me a smile today. :)

Johanson Family said...

First and foremost-- sending prayers for ya'll to feel better and for the lil' boy and his tumor!!

Secondly, NO BUENO!! That is grounds for a move if I ever heard one!!
Too funny about never sucking anything up your nose-- I think I inhaled a fruit fly and the feeling alone made me want to die.. I am with you on that one! hah!!

VandyJ said...

You'd do a much better job at talking to teenage girls than I would.
My town could use some variety in our restaurant choices--we have 8 Mexican restaurants in town, but not a single steak house. I live in Wyoming for Pete's sake--vary the options people! Oh and my town--which is one of the larger in our state has around 27,000 people in it.

Connie Weiss said...

Oh man....brownies.

It's too hot in my apartment to use the oven. Must Go Buy Brownies!

Praying for your friends!

Amber said...

This is my first time.

Nikki Darlin' ( Darlin' Mama ) said...

Wow does sound like you need some places to eat. Maybe you should start a place. Something open 24hrs for all the meth heads.

P.s.
I'm praying super hard!

K Lind said...

I LURVE every part of your speech! PERFECT! Yay for miracle babies! :-)
I love your answer about your nose being an exit only! You are awesome!!!

Laurieanndutton said...

Absolutely love what your speech would include! And love your beagle. I've had 2 and adored them. Trying to convince hubby to get one when we move.

Shawn said...

I can't think about anything other than your poor friends, so very scary!

I love the 3 things you'd tell the girls. Can I give you my girls numbers? You know they always listen to other people more than their own parents.

My babies before I had human babies are both gone, I miss them! They make pink Packer collars you know.

You do need restaurants don't you?!!? But just think of how much money you're saving by not eating out often.

YAY for whatever it took to bring us Baby Emma!

I agree with all of your nevers, we are one of the same in so many ways!

Dawn said...

Under cooked brownies are the best.

I feel so bad for you that you only have to chain restaurants in your town. Although, it probably helps you not eat lots of extra calories. :/

Praying for your friend's son. I just can't imagine going through that.

hotpants™ said...

It sounds like you need to move. Ha!

Xazmin said...

I'm so sorry for your friends. I will keep them in my prayers.

Wow. You really hate your town, huh?

My dog is also always referred to as a "him", and she has ALWAYS had a pink collar!

The swinger thing? Well for me, it would depend on how hot my friend's husbands were. Just sayin'.

I hope you know I'm totally kidding. I've missed ya!

Brandy@YDK said...

good call on never snorting or swinging.

love your teenage girl speech - even if they won't listen

Date Girl said...

I love your teen advice and I may have stolen some of it. Your fur baby is too cute and it makes me happy that she loves her Emma. I hope my pup is good with babies, he's a bit of an old grouch at times!

Come visit me and I will take you to some amazing restaurants!

I'm so sorry for your friend, and I will be praying for them. Xoxo.

sarajo said...

Ok, love your speech to teens. Longer shorts, so true!
We want to get a Beagle for our first dog! Someday...
Your town sounds like "fun". Sorry.
My thoughts and prayers are with your friends.

Coco said...

Are you for real about the swingers in your town?

The county we live and the two surrounding counties in has the worst meth problem in Texas.

I love how you have: never snort cocaine and never stop loving undercooked brownies in the same list.
I will NEVER stop adoring you! You are just too freakin' edible...like an underbaked brownie!

Jenna said...

I love that your speech covers multiple topics. "Wear longer shorts" made me giggle.

Your puppy is adorable!

I will definitely say a prayer for your friends son.

I will definitely be praying for your friends. What a scary thing to go through.

And yay for sunshine, tanning, and swimming! Sounds like heaven.

Colleen said...

Your nevers were WAY better than mine.

Dee said...

Girl, I'm so with you on the "wear longer shorts!" Have you tried to buy shorts lately? They're either to my knees or half my behind is hanging out. It's terrible lol! Great answers!

Lightning Bug's Butt said...

Your Lexi looks EXACTLY like my Bella. Amazing!

Nice and thanks!

Undercooked brownies, adorable beagles and miracle babies this is a blog post after my own heart! I will definitely say a prayer for your friends child. I wish no family would ever have to face news like that ever.

Brianne said...

Swingers? Eww!! And how do you not have a Taco Bell? Your town sucks! LOL :)

You and Shawn both have the swingers thing goin' on! WEIRD! I bet they're in my town too but I'm either too blind to notice or just to naive.
And, C is the best thing for an answer of what to say to teen girls. I think they got more stupid lately.

Bridget said...

Great speech to the teenage girls!

Lexi is too cute!

We don't need reataurants here, we just need more diversity going on. I mean hello, there is no reason to have five Mexican restaurants in our town...there just isn't...

Stacie said...

Yes to longer shorts, and ooser ones, please--camel toe is disgusting.

Lexi is a cutie.

Feel you on the lack of eateries in a small town.

Hope you and Miss Emma are better soon!

1. Quit dressing like you are for sale. Do you really want a boy who picked you only for your parts?
2. 2 big dogs - adorable and a mess. And a hamster who is loose in the house somewhere.
3. The worst part about Tulsa is that it is not Fort Worth, Texas.
4. Best decision - being a part of the youth group in FW. Changed my life. My life is blessed since being a part of that group.
5. Never did drugs, never will.
Never rode a motorcycle, never will.
Never miss an opportunity to embarrass my kids. Never.

LOL - I live in Hell, too.

Hope your friend's little boy is okay.

LOVE your teen advice...it's priceless!

I also have a Beagle..his name is Ollie. I don't like him..because he sniffs my crotch a lot and sneezes everytime I come near him..it's really odd.

All desserts are best underbaked, so I say!

Thanks for hosting..I'm lame and didn't link up! :( Promise I'm back in the game this week though.

Hope Emma Kate feels better super fast...and I'm sending thoughts and prayers out to your friends little fella. :( XOXO

We are Packers friends too! We live in Cowboy territory and have been laughed at every time someone saw us in Packers get up, until this year. :)
Sending prayers your friends way.

Geez! of course I will keep that little one in prayer. What is his name? And I hope you & Emma feel better too.

i love C on #1...J just "liked" 16 and pregnant on MTV on FB the other day...freaked her dad out. They had a nice long talk.

your pup is adorable. i love beagles. i am glad to hear that she and Emma get along, i worry about that with Coco, but she is so great with kids i know my worries are silly.

i hear ya on #3 i need to move.

#4 good decision, i would 100% do the same thing.

LOL on #5...i am a never on all of those too.

prayers going up!

sorry it took me so long to get here. life.

Sunshine and Lavender said...

Also, you know I said a big fat prayer or two or three for you friends. Which was promptly followed by tears. So now I am going to say another one or five...

Emmy said...

Love you advice to teenagers. 20- something year old women could be given the same advice! I can't imagine living in a town that small. I think the smallest I ever lived in was Durango, CO- which may have been pretty close- but it was also a tourist town so we had some of the best restaurants.

Sex, Drugs and Bacon Sandwiches said...

You do make me giggle!! Hugs to your friends family...

AndreaLeigh said...

so i guess I can count on you not to become a nose spray addict, huh? Ha!

Sex is overrated. Sometimes it doesn't even feel good, and really, who wants to get pregnant when it doesn't feel good? & a teenage probably doesn't know how to *make* it feel good. just saying...

MarciaBrady said...

So, did the procedure to drain your cysts have a name? I have issues and would possibly like to talk to my doc about that.

I too LOVE slightly underbaked brownies. They're the BEST!!
