HAPPY NEW YEAR, LOVIES!! Bring on 2012! I'm hoping for great things. I'm making some changes. I'm taking on a weight loss challenge thanks to the Dukan Diet. I'll be tracking it over there ---->. Wish me luck. I need to get skinny again. This fat roll business is OOC.

So, since my in-laws are still in town {for almost 2 weeks now!!!!}, I am keeping it short and sweet and showering you with Captain a few pics from our Christmas and I'm also linking up with Emmy Mom for her 10 Things to Smile About meme. Ready?

7. Christmas day was at my house this year. This has never happened before. It was a special occasion so we broke out the Captain Morgan's Fine China from our bridal registry {from our wedding in 02 so it's almost ancient, right?}. Basic yet classy. I threatened to kick azzzzz should anyone break a piece. Nobody did.
8. My attempt at cake pops from pinterest. They looked rough but tasted oh so yummy with a glass of Captain milk.
And with a success, you need a pinterest FAIL, right? These were sweet potato soufflés. They tasted pretty good but the presentation gets a D for drink disaster. {Nevermind the wrappers. I never claimed to be super classy or non white trashish.}
9. My Santa-Hat wearing Angel, Emma Kate makes me smile. God, I love this girl!
10. After re-reading this post, it seems I was a little distracted in my writing so I am thankful for alcohol {specifically Captain Morgan Spiced Rum and my wine} for being with me for the last 2 weeks while my in-laws take up residence in the guest bedroom. Pray for my sanity.
But speaking of my beloved Captain, check out this package from my lover, Chelsea:This piece of happy mail has helped keep me sane for the last 2 weeks. Aren't those Captain glasses the cutest things you've ever seen? And she even send Emma Kate the most adorable outfit and matching bows! Chels...I love your face right off.

Well, I'm definitely smiling!! I think if I skipped the nightly wine, I could lose a few easy. (Don't know if I'm willing to do that though!!)

FYI - I lost 20 pounds using My Fitness Pal. It works!
It all looks fantastic to me...could've used a few more drinks though. ;-) Help me if my IL's stayed at my home. I'd move out. And then have the place firebombed to remove the cooties. I might let the IL's get out before the bomb was dropped. Maybe.
Ok I know you prolly won't believe me, but I manged to gain 8 - yesm, that's EIGHT - pounds in December. DECEMBER! Yah. That's what 1/2 bottle (or more) of wine and no running gets me :) Needless to say, I'm on a diet too. Well - I'm running, anyway ;)

Slightly jealous you got to use your china. I have a crystal dinner set--plates and everything--that we have never used. Wait, we used the champagne flutes for New Year's Eve toasts for Nick and I. See, classy and using it to drink, it the only way to go.
