The Day of LOVE?

Welcome to TTUT with your hosts Seriously Shawn and yours truly.

Are you having a FABULOUS Valentine's Day so far? I hope your special Valentine doesn't cave in to flower shops who rake up the charge of a dozen roses 500%. It's such a rip off. A box of chocolates usually last longer anyway. Well, maybe not.

Anygrumpiness...

So today is the day of LOVE, right? I was going to blog about an embarrassing accident but I'll put it on hold for LOVE.

I fell head over heals in LOVE with this man {and his baby blue eyes, perfect smile, kissable lips and sexy Northern accent} 12 years ago next month:
Wait.

That's not him. Hold on...

There he is! See? Pretty.

I knew he wasn't very good in the gifting department but he had a strong romantic side to him {bow-chicka-bow-wow} so I let him marry me because I knew we would have gorgeous blonde haired, blue eyed babies. ;-)

I used to say "Oh honey, don't worry about a gift as long as you get me a card". Gentleman readers: NEVER FALL FOR THIS TRICK.  Get us a flippin' gift. We want to be showered in gifts no matter what spews from our mouths. We want you to dote on us and say all kinds of wonderful things that would make other people puke.

M has to be reminded by my girlfriends {thanks Rhonda and Jenny} to get me a gift for most occasions. And thanks to facebook, if he messes up, then all of our mutual friends know about it too. *insert evil laugh*

Don't worry, I'll let you know what M gives me. I'm pretty sure he'll think of something tomorrow around noon. He's a last minute kind of guy.

And speaking of LOVE, look what MiMi made for me because she's so super sweet:
Yarned wrapped letters! I LOVE IT!

So, what are your feelings towards LOVE today? Are you into gift giving or is Venereal Valentine's Day just another day on the calendar for you?

Link up your Tuesday posts with us today! We have no rules so why not?

PS. Go visit my girl, Connie, for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card. All you have to do is leave a comment telling her your most important character trait in a partner. I'll be popping over there to enter too!

Your hubs does have beautiful eyes. My sisters hubby has those beautiful blue eyes... how can you not stare at a man with gorgeous blue eyes?

My hubs is not a great gift giver. I'm pushing for a laptop. I'm thinkin I might, maybe, hopefully cross my fingers that I will get one for Mother's Day. I need a little more time to work him in to it. He says he isn;t doing anything for Valentines Day... he says my trip to Florida next week is my gift. Ehhh whatever. LOL.

you know what I'd really like? a total day alone, like a spa day, only with my laptop. oh to wish...

Heck yeah, I am into gift giving! :) It just needs to be more often and not just on V-day. Can I get an Amen??

:) Happy Heart Day tho!!

Stacie said...

We don't usually do gifts for V-day, but I demand a card! I don't think he has gotten one yet, so I may end up with a card to Grandma or something or one in spanish, you just never know with him.

I love buying Heather stuff for Valentines Day. This year I'm spending more on her than I did on her birthday or Christmas (if you don't count the laptop.)

I remember when I was single. Manlaw was that if you were not seeing anybody by Thanksgiving then you couldn't date during the the dating dead zone of Thanksgiving until Valentines Day. It was kind of like a vacation.

I'm sure that M will treat you right!!

I think it's going to be cards and lunch out for V-day this year. As much as I'd love something sparkly, it's probably not in the cards this year.

We do give gifts but what I ask for and get is not your typical Valentine day gift.

I love the yarn wrapped letters, Mimi even inspired me to make some!

Happy V-day friend :)

Those are some seriously blue eyes! You picked a good one! ;)

I was giggling the entire time reading your post - especially since it sounds like my hubby and yours could be brothers. Even down to the 'last minute kind of guy'. :)

Happy Valentine's Day! Hope Rhonda and Jenny's suggestions turn into some fabulous gifts. ;) And I LOVE those letters!

You DO have a pretty husband! ;o) Happy Valentine's Day!!! I hope he gets you something nice!!!

I am the hardest person to buy for - flowers make me sneeze, chocolate screws my diet, perfume makes me sneeze, and I don't wear jewelry. Cory gave up a long time ago. Now we just go out and get frozen yogurt. :o)

We don't really celebrate Valentine's Day. We get each other cards but that's about it.

I do remember our FIRST Valentine's Day together....he sent flowers to my office. I loved it!

Those letters are ridiculously awesome!

Just another day. I always have to remind Hubby that he doesn't need to spend money on a gift - because I would rather he save it and pay off something with it. So unromantic and practical, I know. But the day will come when the frugality will pay off and we can REALLY enjoy spending some money! That day will come, right? Tell me it will come.

I am going out for some tasty food though - because any fake holiday is a good excuse to go out for some tasty food.

You two are such a beautiful couple! And you did make a beautiful baby! And more to come - I just know it!

Happy VD! Love you!

I agree with your first commenter ... M has great eyes! So soft, so blue, so lustful (made that word up, I think) .... I'll stop now before you think anything bad!

I'll be waiting patiently at my front door tonight for my flowers I'm sure he sent me. I am his other wife, your sister wife, after all!!!

For reals...those are some kick ass baby blues. And you were totally right because your little cutie is the most adorable thing ever...ya know...except my kids ;)

Seriously hope you have a fab day

Look at those blue eyes! Oh my goodness :) Poor fellow, my husband has his moments. This year he out did himself, several days of packages and then flowers delivered this morning. I was pleasantly surprised. In the past, one Anniversary was celebrated with a new hot water heater after our old one burst and flooded the laundry room and living room, another one was celebrated with our puppy having to have cancer removed from her leg. So we just celebrate our love for each other year round, because who needs one specific day :)

Hope M gives you something awesome today :) (Although he can't give you chocolate and captain, can he? If he does, you might need to break the diet for that one!)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Amy said...

Aw the pic of you two is adorable. I hope you have a great Valentine's Day! Aaand can't wait to read about your embarassing moment sometime soon :)

Melissa Maloney said...

I do not really celebrate Valentine's Day, we are doing dinner (tomorrow because I don't do crowds) and that's it. I have made him promise not to buy anything and while I know it's killing him, he has promised.

You are hysterical! Hubby and I went away for the weekend so that was my/our gift. No kids, eat and sleep and drink and whatever 'else' you want without worrying about four kids was the best gift ever! But, I would live some diamond earrings. :)

Can't wait to see what you got!

KarmaKristin said...

I totally understand the blue eye thing...my husband got big blue orbs that are ridiculous...your Husband does too!!! Sexay!
Ok so every year for v-day we do something different ...last year my "husband" (aka me with his credit card) got me a ruby devil necklace with ruby earrings...
This year we are going to dinner with the kids and going to do fondue with a chocolate fountain!

Anyhow- Happy V-day

XOXO

Aww! So sweet, and I love the letters MiMi sent you. Happy V day.

ps: I invited Paul to the beach house. I hope that's OK.

You two really do look just perfect together. I'm struck by it every time you post couple pictures.

In our relationship, I'm the gifting fail most of the time. About every other holiday, I get MacGyver something that amazes him. The other half - well, I try not to pout when he asks for the reciept within moments of opening it.

Emmy said...

Yes, if a boy falls for "just get me a card" they need a big smack to the head.

And you did make a beautiful blonde haired baby!

jennykate77 said...

It's Paul!!!! Oh how I've missed him!! The creepy-stalker-child-molester-blogger-commenter. *sigh*

I hope M pulls through for you...or should I say, I hope Rhonda or Jenny sent him a text with enough notice so that he could get you something good!

You two do know how to make a beautiful baby!

I love you like Courtney loves to say "winning"...and that she's "a model".

Happy Valentine's Day, Lovie!!! *MUAH*

P.S. I still haven't watched Bachelor from last night! I gotta catch up tonight.

And you did make a very pretty baby together!! but the man's got to come up with gifts!! Jewelry!!

Lots of it!!

Can I get contacts that color? :)

Hope you have a wonderful Valentines Day! Love the 'love' yarn gift. Too cute...and sweet :)

Match is the same way. He's really bad about gift giving. Or he cops out (pun intended!) and says things like, "Well you have a house" or "I got you a baby!" hahahah. Like that didn't take BOTH of us.

Wait til you read about our day...oh it's a doozie!

I think it means more to get flowers or a gift on a random day...much more of a surprise! But, like you said...you better have something to show me you were thinking about me. Ahhh love!

Happy Valentine's Day to you!!!

Happy Valentine's Day, hater.

I actually don't care for cards. Especially store bought ones for $6. When did they get so expensive?

I love the guilt method. I need to try that. (Insert evil laugh)

And your husband has amazing blue eyes!

Sara @ Domestically Challenged said...

I like to spend my V-Day burning things and telling my husband the same crap about not wanting things, and then waiting for them.

Awe Paul, I miss him and the laughs he gave us! Can we bring him back?
